(19) From the fear of being suspected, deliver me, Jesus.

It’s a fear that whispers constantly for some.
For others, it crashes through like a false alarm: You’re being watched. Judged. Blamed. Again.

You’ve probably felt it.
That sting when someone questions your motives.
That ache when they assume the worst, not the best.
That ache becomes a pattern when it starts early in life.

Some of us were raised in homes where we were always on trial.
No benefit of the doubt. No fresh slate.
Just suspicion in the air, waiting for us to disappoint.

And when it comes from someone who should have trusted us?
It cuts the deepest.

Maybe your mom, like mine, looked at you like you were always one step away from failure.
Maybe they projected their own fear onto you.
Maybe they never gave you a fair shot.

When you’ve lived under suspicion long enough, you either rebel… or you retreat.
But here’s the truth we’re finally learning:

Being suspected doesn’t make you guilty.
And having nothing to hide is a kind of peace no one can steal.

Still, it hurts.
And when it keeps happening—on the street, in a store, at your job, or even in your church—it can break something inside you if you let it.

But we’re not going to let it.

Instead of living to dodge suspicion…
We’re choosing to live with honesty, transparency, and wisdom.

Let them see your life.
Let your “yes” mean yes, and your “no” mean no.
Leave a paper trail, tell the truth, and be where you said you’d be.

Because Scripture tells us:

“Abstain from all appearance of evil.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:22
“Let your yes be yes, and your no be no.” — Matthew 5:37
“The one who lives honestly… will never be shaken.” — Psalm 15

We don’t live this way out of fear.
We live this way because we’re free.

So if they suspect you—
let your life speak louder than their whisper.

If they doubt you—
let your integrity shine brighter than their cynicism.

If they accuse you—
don’t return fire for fire.
Jesus sees. And He defends what’s His.

And if you’re weary from always being misunderstood, then here’s the prayer:

Deliver me, Jesus, from the fear of being suspected.
Not just as a desperate cry…
but as a hopeful release.

Because we’re not hiding anymore.
We’re living in the light.
